Steven Michaels - August Investments Inc.

It seemed like a great idea when they solicited me on the phone. A man who called himself, Mr. Branch dials me up one day and asks me if my construction business has any outstanding invoices that need to be collected on. Of course there were... pretty much every contractor I know has troubled getting completely paid all the time. There pitch is "we don't paid unless we collect, so there is no risk to you"..... sounds great! right? So I gave them a few invoices to try to track down some funds. Within two weeks, they had convinced me that they would need a retainer ($1200) in order to file some court paperwork on one of my deadbeats. Within a month and a half they had collected $2000 on my behalf from this same deadbeat. Yup, they did a great job for me! The only trouble is, they collected that $2000 in January 2010. It's September (almost October) 2010 now and I still have never seen a penny of it!
They've had the money now for EIGHT MONTHS!
The owner Steven Michaels fails to return phone calls and fails to address the issue.
It is Ironic that Steven Michaels job is basically to badjer deadbeat debtors all day long into making payments to him (ostensibly on behalf of legitimate clients) and then he turns around and is one of the biggest deadbeats himself!
