Palmdale Regional Medical Center
Am I on a Do Not Admit list???
Palmdale, California, 93550
Palmdale Regional Medical Center costs $700.000.00 and is sparsely equipped, well staffed basically, and two floors still remain empty.
I had a dreadful incident in September when I went there for Congestive Heart Failure and vowed to never go back again.
I am awaiting my blood to be clean of bacterial growth for 30 days before I have implanted a heart defribulator and for my kidneys dyalsis a fistula to be surgicaldlly implanted.
I do have daily home nursing draw blood; hooking up my two antibiotivc IVs and then an iron sucrose, followed by an 11 hour formulated IV drip.
My hired caregiver is in home healthcare and keeps atop of my issues. After a blood CBC indicated I had a new infection in my blood, fevers daily that go from low grade to 102 degrees, and my kidney creatinin level rose over two points I called my infectious disease specialist who returned my email at 7PM, saying get to a hospital immediately.
At that hour it would be 3 hours or more dived to LA's Cedars-Sinai, so I very reluctantly went to Palmdale Regional Medical Center. After being triaged with an obviously low rating as so many with superficial cuts were admitted before my two hour wait. The nures are great and spend more time chatting as the atmosphere in the ERis not up to the profesionalism of Cedars-Sinai. I finally saw a very bright Dr. Myers. As I presented my four main issues or admission complaints, he listened well, asked a few questions. After blood tests, he came back releasing me. I have fevers, I argued, I need a special blood draw for a 72 hour culture for if my blood does have a fungus growing I must be killed and would put away two major surgeries for my, a delay my body cannot endure. Dr. Myers had his mind made up and locked on the same patter. He did, when I asked for the blood culture say he would only allow that. My caregiver asked for a copy of the normal CBC panel they had done and he said ask the nurse. When the nurse was asked she said we had to go to admissions and request one. My caregiver went straight to Dr. Myers after over half an hour and one was instantly produced. Aftter a half hour wait for the special blood test, my caregiver again went to Dr. Myers who instantly put in the order on a hand held computer. Having not eaten since noon, and it was close to 2AM, the nurse was so kind as to get a turkey sandwich and juice, thank you.l
Having left the hospital AMA after my first Congestive Heart Failure and dreadful care and abuse, am I no longer their once ATM and on a DO NOT ADMIT LIST?
