Back in early February my wife sent a deposit on a kitten to Elise Favin of DC Dolls Ragdolls, and Boomerang Ragdolls Cattery, in Olney Md. For over a month Elise Favin has not responded to emails or phone calls from us to check on the status of our kitten until recently when she answered the phone and told my wife that the kitten died.

We have sent emails requesting our deposit back but once again cannot get a response from her. It states on her webpage that there are no refunds of deposits, however the check that was sent to her was memoed as being for a specific kitten that was alive and well but now supposedly has perished aka (sold for more money) After contacting other breeders, we have learned a lot about this breeder, and that this is not her first time for this either.

Anyhow Ripoffreport is my first stop, as I have notified TICA, am obtaining a warrant in debt, and hotlinking everything through several search engines and Linkedin. Sorry Elise but it will end up costing you a lot more then the $300 I sent you. You shouldn't rip people off.

Elise Favin of Dcdolls was heard about doing similar practices in the past. she pulled this stuff before and thinks she can get away with it because she has friends, well hopefully now her friends will see she is just a sneak, a refund is the best policy if she is telling someone their kitten is dead. Its sad for a purchaser to be told there kitten passed away even if Elise lied and wants to resell the cat she should find it in her heart to refund. What a nasty Ragdoll breeder she treats buyers like dirt. She has no heart and is a fake and worse yet she sold a cat that dropped dead.

I too have sent a $300 deposit to Elise Favin in mid February, and like you have tried to email and call her multiple times, also without a response. She cashed my check in March, but I've heard nothing from her, and am becoming increasingly worried that she was not on the "up and up".

When I tried to leave a voicemail the other day, the mailbox was full. I'm at the point also where now I don't trust that even if she gives me a kitten it will be in good health, and I would like my deposit back, and I will go elsewhere to get my kitten. After finding your comments on this site, I will probably contact TICA also.

Hello to all of my fellow people who have been ripped off by Elise Favin. I wish I came forward earlier, but I thought Elise was going to replace the kitten that I adopted back in December 2008. Silverbelle came to our home via courier (we are in NJ) as a Christmas gift to our 8-year-old daughter. While the kitten was in transit, Elise told me she bathed Silverbelle the night before and she was "sneezing" before she left to come to me. She (not a normally generous person) was kind enough to include antibiotic drops for the new kitten. When Silverbelle arrived to our home, her eyes were runny and she was sneezing.

However, being this was from "Santa" we were thrilled to get her and thought she would be better. Approximately three to four weeks later, Silverbelle's back legs started to give out for no apparent reason. After numerous vetinarian visits and a neurology specialist consult bills that totaled approximately $1200, we found out Silverbelle had FIP. Not only were we devistated about her, we were worried for our other two boy cats who were in contact with her. When we found out, we contacted Elise and she was stone cold and blamed us for getting her vaccinated (we did not under advisement of our vet because she was underweight and sickly). However, Elise never asked if she could reimburse us nor was she sorry about this horrible situation we were in. Our daughter was beside herself as were my husband and I. Anyway, Elise promised to "replace" Silverbelle with another kitten in her next litter.....well we are still waiting. We have not been able to contact her be it e-mail or via telephone (full messages). So here are....approximately $2,000 in the hole and no kitten to show for it nor any replacment in our future....

My reason for sharing this is I have received help from another WONDERFUL breeder who gave me contacts to file grievances with...I was notified by George Eigenhauser of the CFA Grievance Committee that they will intervene if there are enough complaints against a breeder.....THERE IS STRENGTH IN NUMBERS. His e-mail address is geigenhauser@allmail.net. Don't let this happen to anyone else... Tell Mr. Eigenhauser your story and maybe Elise will get what she deserves. She does not deserve to be a breeder, and I feel she is a poor excuse for a human being. I feel badly enough seeing what happend to all of you after what I went through. If only I had come forward sooner. Please do not have the same regret as me....tell your story and maybe we can have a happy ending... Thanks, Sherri
