Their father abused them and their mother. He broke one of his daughter’s arms, and he would leave all of the children to starve on a regular basis.
When it came to the boys of the family, the father would take pride in them and offer them food. The girls were eventually taken from the home and put in foster care. The girls usually didn’t end up in the same foster home. When the father would find out who was going to take them in, he would make it seem like the girls were nothing but trouble, which would lead to the foster parents not going through with letting them in the home. Their teachers saw that they weren’t eating, so they took breakfast and other foods to school. Soon, the girls found a home to share, and they can now look back at the experience as a positive one to share with others instead of completely negative.
