I wanted to purchase a Siamese kitten from a responsible breeder. My husband and I drove up at the appointed time, and after ringing the front door bell and receiving no response, I called the breeder. She stated that we were too early. I asked if we should leave her premises, and she said no, just wait 5 minutes. 15 minutes later my husband wanted to leave, so I went up and pressed the doorbell again. She screamed through the door that we should come in the back, and there she brought two different 11 week or so old kittens and place them in baby pens that were covered with light mesh. She said we could not hold the kittens, as the were not socialized yet. What baloney. The smell coming from the back porch alone gave us a pretty good idea of why we were not allowed in. The kittens were more than old enough for sale, but crouched in the corner of the baby pens in apparent fear. I wanted to "rescue" one anyway, but at the price of 750 dollars my husband said he did not like the entire setup and we left.
