MICHAEL CANTRELL

THE TRUTH ABOUT MICHAEL CANTRELL

MAUI, Hawaii

“Consumer Protection Warning”

BE AWARE FROM MICHAEL CANTRELL AND PACIFIC DREAMS MAUI

Consumer Protection Commissioner in Hawaii - Joshua Hillsborough is alerting consumers about Michael Cantrell that seemingly offer free travel, but beware he is noted to be a white collar criminal on the run from authority’s in Ohio.

Michael Cantrell began landing innocent victims in Colorado recently, he said in a release issued on Wednesday.

The promotional presentation includes a scam of travel discounts of travel club offers where he implies to victims to save them up 90% off travel and features in large airfare discounts. Michael Cantrell makes a certificate he distributes with the names and identifiable logos of Delta or Southwest Airlines. Michael Cantrell said to one of the victims we interviewed in our report, “the post cards are from a travel company that have no relationship to the airlines, I don’t give a shit if the people don’t get a free trip their moochers”.

The membership advises clients who bought that they will receive “2 Round Trip Airfares” and hotel lodging every year for 50% - 80% off, and direct them to a toll-free number for more information on how to use their membership.

In states similar memberships have been sold for up to $40,000, consumer complaints indicate that the offer is really a gimmick and a scam to get unsuspecting consumers to sign up for a private exclusive travel club or Web site subscription, Hillsborough said.

“We are concerned that these Travel Clubs Michael Cantrell works at could lure consumers into believing that they are going to receive free trips and greatly discounted hotel stay with no strings attached, when apparently, that is not the case at all,” Hillsbrough said. “The fine print on the back of the membership documents indicates that so many restrictions apply, and according to complaints from consumers in other states where Michael Cantrell has worked, these travel Clubs are a scam especially pointing out two Clubs in particular “Pacific Dreams” located in Maui where their promotions have run out tourist from the beautiful Hawaiian Island, the conditions often become clear when it’s too late to change one’s mind” said Hillsborough.

Hillsborough said one other Travel Club to watch out for is RSI (Reservation Services International) or Access RSI, this company’s online promotional websites are completely a “fraud” received by a consumer last week featured the same name, logo and an office photo, and said RSI is all smoking mirrors she had purchased from Pacific Dreams in Maui who apparently is not Pacific Dreams but RSI or sells the RSI product ,had been selected to be a key whiteness with twenty two other consumers who have purchased with Pacific Dreams In Maui and are now starting a class action law suit. Furthermore she states that Tickets On The Rock is a good company they are the company who serviced me and told me where to go after RSI/Pacific Dreams and Michael Cantrell Scammed & Frauded me for $6940 and a “BONUS HOTEL STAY.”

The membership number on their package directed the recipient to a toll-free number for more information, he said it was to RSI in Florida who never answered the phone the 20+ times we called.

Upon calling, the recipient reached an answering machine stating RSI, a travel agency in the Florida area. The caller was then offered to leave a message and someone would get back to them, no one ever returned the call, but Tickets on the Rock helped me and gave me free activity tickets on while I was on Maui for two people, also told me I was welcome back any time for helping them and they would pay my activity events and a bonus hotel stay, they are wonderful said the victim of the alleged fraud.
Hillsborough said please notify the police immediately if you see Michael Cantrell, we would like to bring him in for questioning on 183 counts of fraud committed in Ohio, Colorado and Maui.

Michael Cantrell is 33 years old approximately 5”9 thin frame and tanned skin.
He claims to be a Berkley Graduate with an Masters degree in computer science, he claims to be a web site developer and expert and can be viewed on YOUTUBE by searching for his name, Michael Cantrell also go’s by Mike Cantrell, James Cantra, and Mike Kintero.

Information about the scam –
Consumer is offered an incentive -
In order to “qualify,” the consumer was required to answer questions about income, marital status and age, and was told attendance at a 90-minute presentation at a sales location in Maui, he said.

"Consumers in other states who have attended similarly-promoted presentations report that they encountered hard-sell tactics and that Michael Cantrell encouraging them to join his travel club costing thousands of dollars, and that if and when they finally received their membership, they learned that they had to pay more money to vacation than they could have on line by them selfs plus taxes and fees per person," Hillsborough said. "In addition, many travel dates were blocked, and travel restrictions and requirement to fly out on a Monday or Tuesday and return that Thursday."

The Department of investigations also learned of similar Travel Clubs owned by RSI or serviced by them which the department is receiving an overwhelming amount of complaints. We believe currently the person who is operating the Pacific Dreams sales center in Maui is a gentleman by the name of Scott Carey who is apparently a racist and bigot. Many complaints are being received in Maui featuring the Michael Cantrell and Scott Carey name, claiming to me misrepresented and frauded out of their money. A similar club offering a similar deal and product (RSI), including attending a presentation at an Oahu sale location is under investigation as well. Investigators say, sometime this week or next at the same time in Oahu we will be conducting a consumer based investigation as well, we believe the owner of the company in Maui is the same as the one in Oahu, Hillsborough said.

“We have confirmed that these resorts, hotels and airlines are not affiliated whatsoever with the RSI or Pacific Dreams companies,” Hillsborough said. “We are alerting consumers that these offers Michael Cantrell, RSI and Pacific Dreams require scrutiny and consideration.”

Hillsborough said any consumer who has purchased a Travel Membership from Michael Cantrell or Pacific Dreams and is thinking about attending their presentation should be wary. We will be putting all of our efforts to get to the bottom of this and detain Michael Cantrell as well the spot light is now on RSI Scott Carey and apparently Brother Jim Carey who is an owner of the RSI Company…

“As always, if a deal seems too good to be true, it’s usually not true,” Commissioner Hillsborough said.
