James Walker

Oil rig romance scam from Ghana

Dallas, Texas

I met a man on match.com who called himself James Walker who said he was in Dallas TX working for the oil company KCA Deutag. He was very kind and sweet and withing weeks of emailing each other back and forth he professed love for me and said he would marry me after he was done with his contract. He said he was being sent to work on an oil rig in the North Sea so that's why we couldn't meet. After 2 months of talking on the phone and emaling each other he asked me if I could claim his last contract payment of 4 million USD. He gave me the email and phone for the lawyer in Scotland, Barrister Orand Jose. The lawyer sent me an email with the beneficiary form, which only wanted my name, address, phone number and occupation and he wanted a scan of my passport to claim the money. At first I did not realize this was a scam, but my son alerted me to it. I contacted the Bar Association of the UK and found out that Orand Jose is not a lawyer in the UK. My son traced the IP addresses of the lawyer and James Walker and found out they were coming from Accra, Ghana. James Walker had also had my contact his 10 year old daughter, who was supposed to be in a boarding school in the UK, but her IP address came from Ghana as well. This is all an elaborate scam. I also took the lawyer's forms to the bank and they said they see this all the time and they are fraudulent. Please be aware that not all scams from Africa ask you for money. Sometimes they ask you to claim money and then they want you to pay taxes or fees on it, but there really is no money.

Update--since I have exposed James Walker that he is a scammer from Ghana, he has purchased a "host server" from Ireland and now when you trace his emails they come up like they are coming from the UK, but I guarantee you he is still in Ghana. I have 3 months worth of emails from him, the lawyer and his daugther that all trace back to Ghana.
WHERE did you get this picture? I KNOW this person in this picture and NOTHING you are saying is accurate. Do you really think that if someone is going to scam you they are going to post their own photo!?
Unless you can prove that this is indeed the person behind the computer, you took this picture or you have seen him in person, I HIGHLY suggest you remove this picture IMMEDIATELY!!! You WILL definitely regret if you don't! I KNOW the man in this picture very well and you have NO idea who he is! He was NOT the person behind the computer in this scam NOR is he located in ANY of the areas you have specified. I have already notified him of this post and I strongly suggest you remove this picture! If you want to post your story, that's one thing but to post a picture that you don't even know nor can you verify this is indeed the person is slander!
holy shit that is a pic of me. i took last year on vacation that is on my girlfriends facebook. I promise you that I am not in Ghana. I do live in Texas. My name is not John Walker and I do not work in the oil field. I am a cop
I was hoping the real person in this picture would find it online. My intent in posting this was to warn other women on dating web-sites because I know this picture is being used by the scammers from Ghana to trap other people. I also have a picture of this man and a girl who appears to be about 10 years old which I would never post because it has a child in it. I would love for you to contact me. I knew the man in the picture was innocent and had no idea his picture was being used to scam women. I have reported this to the FBI and romance scam.org, plus the Federal Trade Comm. I am so sorry your image is being used to scam people, but I am glad you found this post.
There is another website but i cant remember it. They are all out of Nigeria. Thanks to my department doing a complete investigation 2 yrs ago and me almost losing my job. I know my pics are out there once they get them its to late to stop em. i am glad you caught it before you sent them money. I know several women have fallen victim to them. and who the perceive to be me. What can i say the Nigerian people think i am sexy lol and i would like to thank my friend above for contacting me.
I didn't want to post that you were a police officer but I was frantic of this because of your work!
I always wondered who this man was. I was "in love" with James Walker and thought we were going to get married and I've spent many hours looking at these pictures. Like I said, I'm sorry you had to find this and be freaked out, but I had to warn other women. It was not my intent to hurt you, because I know you're innocent. Apparently your pictures have circled next door to Accra, Ghana. You do have a nice face.
here is another website i was used on. there are alot of people on here . so becareful

OMG and Wow. That is you. You poor man. I am so sorry this is happening to you and the little girl too whose picture we've all seen but haven't posted. I also posted your picture on www.romancescams.org which is the website the FBI refers you to. Actually, they refer you to www.lookstoogoodtobetrue.com and they refer you to romancescams.org.
