Tomahawk Tree Service

From my recent experience with Tomahawk Tree Service, my opinion is that it is a very shady company and is unethical when it comes to business. I too had asked for a Free Estimate and received a quote to sign. After signing the quote they now use their all-encompassing “Additional Terms of Contract to Perform Services” on the backside as a way to trap you. Do not sign anything they hand to you!
After finding a reputable company at nearly half the price despite the 50% off “deal” from Tomahawk, I received the cancellation notice. I called (several calls until I spoke to someone) and was given a song and dance about the owners are located in Venezuela (even though their website boasts “locally owned and operated”) and they will not cancel anything. Bob (who is the manager, I suspect) even told me about a church that signed the quote and they too were required to pay a cancellation fee….A CHURCH!! In order to avoid going to court or dealing with a collection agency I paid a substantial cancellation fee for work that was never done. It was supposed to be a Free Estimate!
What makes it worse is I was a repeat client of theirs and I was referred to them by a friend of the local manager. I have spent close to $5K in the past 4 years with them and I was still threatened with legal action and that I would be turned over to collections if I did not pay their cancellation fee. Furthermore, after explaining this in a letter and personally delivering the letter (and check) to their office, I did not even get so much as a phone call or letter in return, only the cashed check from my bank.
This company and the person who owns it is a scam artist in my opinion. There are far more honest tree service companies with integrity in the Atlanta area. I caution anyone about using Tomahawk Tree Service.
