Joey & Robyn Veach

We signed a lease agreement of their 3 bedroom/2bath located in Hesperian Boulevard in San Leandro Apt. F for $1,800/month with a deposit of $2,000 for a 6 months contract. I asked them we would like to have a year lease, and they said we only want for 6 months contract for now. So, we agreed upon their deal. 3 months later after we moved in in September of 2009, I noticed that the checked I sent them for the rent has been deposited in advanced and forged my signature and changed the post dated check. It happened 2x and I end up notifying my bank. One time in early December, I was home early from work. Someone was knocking on the door and when I opened it. The lady was asking me about the owner and where is the owner. I said, I am renting this place. 2 weeks later we received a letter in our mail box regarding the foreclosure information about the house. We got worried. Finally, our lease is up in February 28, 2010. We made sure that the place was cleaned so I can get the deposit we put in. It's already May 3, 2010 and I haven't heard anything from the owner ( Joey Veach and Robyn Veach) about the security deposit.
